The AWD Civic Type RL Build

Its one crazy Jswap

Welcome to what could be one of the most exciting Honda builds ever undertaken.  Inspired by the dominating group B rally cars, and the fact that I am getting tired of traction problems, one must ask themselves what would happen if you took an insanely light EG Civic chassis, and stuffed the power train from Honda’s Acura RL, the SH AWD, along with its J35a8 3.5L engine?  I would assume you get exactly what Nissan got when they did it to a Juke and called it the Juke R.  And so begins the build we will title: Civic Type RL

Not just another j swap honda thats for sure.

In the table below pages will be added as the build progresses.  I will try and add as much detail and photo’s as I can.  Be sure to check back frequently for updates and to read the many "how to" and technical articles found on the site.  Enjoy!

Information found in the build is not just for this swap. There will be a lot of infomation about all kinds of J swaps. This particular build uses a J35a8, but the information here will pertain to j32a, j35a2, j35a4, j37a1, and many other Jswap type motors. J swaps are getting very popular because of the amount of performance that can be had right out of the gate. With j37 motors now putting out around 300 hp, that's a lot of up-front horsepower that can be had just by completing the swap. With kits being offered from Hasport and others companies, it really can be close to a bolt of type ordeal.
